Hussar saber, year IV model. Leather-covered handle. Brass mounting. Single-branch hilt with mounts, stamped with a rooster and "Simonet". Straight quillon ending in flats. Curved, flat-backed blade engraved with "Klingenthal" and hollow sides engraved with "Répe" and "Franse", stamped on the heel. Leather-covered wooden scabbard (missing and repaired), with two large brass fittings. Asymmetrical iron sting. A.B.E. Revolutionary period.
