SEIDMANN-FREUD (Tom). Pseudonym for Martha Gertrud Freud. ANDERSEN. GRIMM. BIALIK (Haim Nachman).
Esser sichot liyeladim. [Ten little tales for children].
[From Andersen, Grimm's fairy tales and others]. [Translation by Haim N. Bialik]. Ophir. Berlin. Jerusalem. 5683. [1922-1923]. [Copyright by the Verlag "Ophir". Berlin. In-8 oblong (20.3 x 25.2 cm). (24) pp. beige cloth spine, orange paper-covered boards, lithographed and hand-colored stencil illustration applied to center of first board.

Extremely rare work illustrated by Tom-Martha Seidmann-Freud on a translation by Haim N. Bialik.
In 1922, transcended by the birth of her daughter Aviva, she designed this extraordinary album; ten hors-texte plates and two highly stylized vignettes, on which the rarest watercolor tones are applied by hand. The Hebrew script of the stories, placed on the facing page, perfectly matches the angular shapes of the paintings.
Interior of the book in perfect condition, covers a little faded with traces of labels removed near the spine.
Jewish Memorial Council copy. Central Committtee for Jewish Education. [Wet stamps on first flyleaf].
