Slight traces of folds and two short tears along the lower edge of the folio. Full margins. According to Roger-Marx, "Renoir was inspired in this wash by the two portraits he painted, one in Palermo, and on the spot, in thirty-five minutes (January 1882), the other in 1893 (the latter canvas belongs to the Bibliothèque de l'Opéra)."
