L.S., Paris 18 pluviôse IV (February 3, 1796), to citoyen Guinaud jeune; 1 page and a quarter small in-4 headed Le Directeur de l'École Polytechnique, addressed with postmarks (slight split in envelope). The Minister having decided that "All students and agents of the school who have refused to take the oath or who have modified it, or who have even subsequently withdrawn, and who have been provisionally excluded by the school board, are definitively excluded as unworthy of benefiting from the republican education granted to them by the government". Guinaud Jeune was therefore definitively excluded, and had to return his admission card as soon as possible, without needing to call in the police.
