On the sermons he wrote for his films, on the occasion of the publication of the book Les Sermons de Marcel Pagnol, présentés par Norbert Calmels (Robert Morel, 1967) in the form of an answer to two questions: "Why did you write several sermons?" and "How come these sermons are published and prefaced by the Abbé général des Prémontrés?". In it, Pagnol evokes the sermons of Père Gaucher and the Curé de Cucugnan in the film Lettres de mon moulin, shot in part at Frigolet Abbey, the one written for Manon des Sources, and the story of the collection prepared by Dom Calmels.
