Born in Taiwan in 1956, Kevin Yu was introduced to European painting on his arrival in Paris in 1981, attending the Louvre, where he discovered classical works that he knew only from representations in his native country. Nourished by traditional Chinese painting, he soon came face to face with Western abstraction, building his own personal language between geometry and restrained lyricism.
