Pair of double flintlock pistols. Round, thunder-flat barrels decorated with gold inlays. Platinums signed "Jean Valet" and flat-bodied, engraved swan-neck hammers. Round basins with spark guards. Plain, cut steel fittings. Line-decorated long-eared knobs. Walnut crossbars, partly carved, enriched with inlaid silver wire. Length: 43.5 cm A.B.E. (two cracks on one of the barrels, patinated arms with traces of bluing on the barrels). Circa 1760-1780. VALET (or VALLET) Pasques-Jean, received Master Fourbisseur in 1766.
