Signed and dated in the lower right corner. Rounded corners. Biffé with two long drypoint strokes in the lower left-hand corner. Inked and varnished. Provenance: Atelier Leblanc, printer. The plate was printed in 50 proofs, part in sanguine, part in olive green. "Villon executed this first plate directly on the copper plate [sic], sitting at the café on rue Caulaincourt, facing the maquis in the background". (C. de Ginestet and C.
