Apsara, celestial nymph, beige sandstone, India, Madhya Pradesh, 12th - 13th century style Standing, slightly swaying to the right, she wears a diaphanous garment with festoons hanging from her waist and pearl necklaces around her neck accentuating her feminine form. The face has a serene expression, with almond-shaped eyes. The ornamented hair is gathered into a large, low bun to the left of the neck, and the ears are adorned with large earrings.
