Ivory bakemono netsuke, Japan, Edo period, 19th century Katabori-type netsuke depicting Mikoshi Nyudo grimacing, eyes bulging, clawed hands dangling, watching over a lantern, while his ectoplasmic garment wraps around the foot of the lantern. It is embellished with two himotoshi carved into the back under the obi. A signature is engraved under the base of the Hidemasa lantern, 秀正. Height: 10.2 cm; weight: 37 g N°CIC : FR2305400016-K
