PARIS 1773 - 1774 Pair of cast silver torches, known as the "King's model", the round foot with six sides and doucines, extended by gadroons in the bowl. The shaft has hollow canals and turning gadroons, the tap is chased with canals on an amatized background and the collar is poly-lobed. The bases are engraved, one with the letter V, the other with the letter M. A coat of arms acollated with flags and surmounted by an open crown has been engraved on the reverse, but is illegible as it has been deliberately erased.
