First edition of this poetic collection by Robert Desnos, illustrated with 10 original out-of-text etchings by painter and illustrator Gaston-Louis ROUX (1904-1988), a student of Vuillard, Sérusier and Maurice Denis at the Académie Ranson. Limited edition of 170 copies reserved for bibliophile friends of the author, illustrator and publisher. This is one of 20 reprinted on Arches laid paper, watermarked D, signed by the publisher Robert J. Godet at the justification, the only copies containing an original drawing used to illustrate the book (unsigned), a suite of etchings on chine and 5 refused etchings on vellum. These reprinted copies should be nominative, but this one bears no name. A very well preserved copy.
