JOUVE (Paul).
Ten original etchings and a frontispiece.
Paris: Apollo, Galerie Colette Weil, [1930]. -Album, broadside, 513x407: (1 f.), 11 plates. In sheets, in a tan leather slipcase decorated on the first cover with an etching of a panther-headed door hammer holding a coiled snake ring, square domed cabochon at the corners of the same cover, gilt metal slide clasp (Hermès 24, faubourg Saint Honoré).

Remarkable and rare album of 11 numbered and signed original etchings by Paul JOUVE (1878-1973).
The edition was limited to 111 copies, this being one of 100 containing a proof of each etching on Hollande Van Gelder Zonen vellum.
It is common to find these plates offered individually, so complete copies have become extremely rare.
The slipcase is as sought-after as the plates. It was designed as a luxury item by Hermès, who also marketed it as a desk pad. The first frontispiece plate, depicting a panther-headed door hammer holding a coiled snake ring, is printed on the front cover.
A very well preserved copy.
