SÉGUY (Émile-Allain). Prismes. Paris: Charles Moreau, [1930]. -Album in-4, 322x243: (2 ff.), 40 plates. Leaves, in publisher's illustrated hardback folder, black cloth laces. First edition of this rare album of 40 stencil plates, representing as many decorative creations by ornamentalist and decorator Émile-Allain Séguy (1877-1951). This is certainly the finest and most sought-after of the albums he produced, and after 30 years of activity, it marks a turning point in his artistic achievements. Forget Art Nouveau, he proposed a new design based on geometric, futuristic shapes and new color palettes, demonstrating that he was one of the few designers capable of moving so skilfully from Art Nouveau to Art Deco. The plates were often sold individually, and complete copies are now very rare. A very well preserved copy.
