German artillery saber. Black varnished wooden handle. Nickel-plated single-prong hilt. Curved blade with rounded back, counter-edge and hollow sides, stamped Solingen on the heel. Leather scabbard with two nickel-plated metal fittings. A.B.E. With black pompom strap with red thread. An iron cross is included. This saber was brought back from Württemberg, the first billet of the III 62nd African Artillery Regiment of the 5th Armored Division in 1945.
