Romantic Diableries. [19th century]. - Suite of 13 in-4 lithographs, approx. 15 to 16 x 15 to 19 cm (the frontispiece 20 x 17.5 cm), hand-colored and fixed with gum arabic, mounted on strong paper leaves bound into a small in-folio volume, brown long-grained morocco, smooth mute spine, boards decorated with a wide gilded fillet frame and cold-stamped foliate scroll friezes, with the initials "B.P." gilded in the center of the first cover, inner frame in the same leather decorated with a gilded roulette, lining in white moiré paper, endpapers in the same paper decorated with an embossed frame of foliate scrolls and palmettes; spine and corners rubbed, splintering on the first cover (period binding).
