Penauille; - An offprint of "Marginalia inédits de Baudelaire" by Joseph Bollery, published in the Revue des Sciences humaines (1954), with a signed autograph dispatch to André Vasseur.
Founded by Granier de Cassagnac and the Escudier brothers, music publishers and musicographers, this polemist and Bonapartist journal set out to "sanitize literature". Its main contributor was Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly, who nevertheless fell out with Granier de Cassagnac, criticizing him for being too flexible. Barbey d'Aurevilly ceased his collaboration with Le Réveil in September 1858, and the ardor and critical verve of Le Connétable, which sought to shake "the torpor of the marmots of the Second Empire", gave way to a small moral, social and worldly chronicle.
