On one of the plates, brass escutcheon depicting a battle with stones, captioned "ISONZO-ARMEE 1945", straight blade with gutter on both sides. Steel scabbard. All metal parts nickel-plated. Lt : 342 mm - Ll : 237 mm - ll : 24 mm - Dd : 13,8 mm A.B.E. The battles of the Isonzo saw Italian and Austro-Hungarian troops clash during WW1. Mountain battles with very heavy losses, they offered no strategic advantage to either side, with the exception of the last and twelfth battle, better known as the Battle of Caporetto.
