Before Pierre Étienne Du Ponceau, notary public for the Republic of Pennsylvania, Joseph Bonaparte "makes and constitutes His Eminence Monseigneur le Cardinal Fesch, residing in Rome, his general and special procurator, to whom he gives power, for him and in his name, to manage and administer all his goods and affairs, present and future, throughout Europe [...] To prosecute all trials, proceedings and actions"... etc. The other expedition restates in Italian a power of attorney granted to Cardinal Fesch six years later, and bears apostilles signed by Florentine personalities.
