VALÉRY (Paul).
Narcisse.
Anvers : [Alexander Stols], 1926. - In-4, dark blue half-maroquin with corners, ribbed spine, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved (H. Noulhac).

First edition, partly original, combining 2 versions of "Narcisse parle", and "Fragments du Narcisse", which previously appeared in various collections. It is decorated with lettering and a title designed by J. Van Krimpen.

Edition of only 38 numbered copies, signed by the author and publisher on the colophon. This is one of 35 on large Hollande paper, specially printed for Fernand Vellut.

A very fine copy in an unsigned binding by Noulhac. It has been enriched by an autograph card signed by the latter and addressed to M. Fernand Vellut. He has taken the Francis Jammes volume, which he is going to bind according to his correspondent's instructions, and warns the latter that his copy of Valéry has been started, "but there is still time to bind it in 1/2 maroq. with corners".
