Alfred Boucher presented his monumental plaster at the Salon des Artistes français in 1886, where he was awarded a first-class medal, and then at the Exposition Universelle in 1889, where he was awarded a gold medal. He produced a monumental bronze for the French government, destroyed in 1940, and published reductions by founders Barbedienne and Siot.
