Large tray with inlaid decoration, Near East or Egypt, 19th century Large circular tray with slightly sloping rim and bulging edge, in brass with engraved and inlaid copper and silver decoration of a starry rosette inscribed in a circle and decorated with medallions with vegetal or geometric decoration and epigraphic cartouches in Thuluth Arabic, all encircled by a frieze of roundels with alternating epigraphic and geometric interlacing decoration. The wing features a wavy ribbon pattern punctuated by interlaced medallions. Among the inscribed cartouches appears the date 927 H/1520. Diameter: 71.7 cm Dirt and oxidation.
