Bench seat, Syria, late 19th century Four-legged bench connected by poly-lobed arches, with splayed armrests and pedimented back, in carved, turned, engraved and inlaid wood with mother-of-pearl, bone and wood discs and stars. Several panels of moucharabiyyehs highlight the armrests, the pediment of the back and the seat, the engraved decorations predominantly plant and geometric.
