Small dressing table with marquetry decoration, Syria, 19th century A four-legged saddle joined by a platform strut that follows the shape of the square top with notched corners, resting on sloping sides above an arcature in the form of an accolade. The top opens on a hinge, its reverse side lined with a frame probably intended to house a mirror (missing), opening onto a compartment upholstered in blue velvet with purple braided braid. The whole inlaid with wood of various shades, mother-of-pearl and bone forming a geometric decoration.
