Kindjal dagger, Ottoman Empire, probably Caucasus, 19th century Straight, double-edged steel blade with central edge, curved walrus-ivory handle, trimmed with four riveted metal washers. Wooden scabbard covered in black chagrin, fitted with a silver ring and buckler with cast decoration. Length: 36.6 cm; L. with scabbard: 38.4 cm Some wear, traces of rust, slightly cracked ivory.
