D. opening: 13.3 cm Often referred to as the products of Sultanabad, the 14th-century center of Ilkhanid ceramics with its abundant animal decorations on a foliate background, these small, extremely refined bowls are more likely to have originated in the historic center of Kashan. A very similar example of this piece, with the same decorative elements and palette, but with a wader instead of a hare, can be found at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (C.724-1909).
