Imperial Guard cuirassier helmet and breastplate set: - Helmet. Iron bomb stamped "2C" and remnants of crown, dated "57". Headband with "N" under crown, boxed crest. Leather-lined ring chinstraps with daisy bosses. White metal marmoset. Mounted with leather cap. Repainted interior. Reassembled with later headband and marmoset and modified crest. - Cuirass model 1855. Iron (orange peel quilted metal) with brass rivets. Leather-lined brass 8-ring shoulder straps. Iron clips. Leather belt (later) with brass buckle. Presented with aiguillette and epaulets in the cuirassiers de la Garde style. E.M.
