CR}Faced with this work, we can only regret that Michel Macréau, a pupil of the fresco artist Lesdounit, was never commissioned to paint murals. For years, the artist who used to talk to me about Romanesque art kept his "Project for a chapel" paintings in his studio. For its latest retrospective, the town of Bourges made available to me the disused chapel of the Bon Pasteur, where this ensemble was presented. A film by Nada Chalhoub entitled "épanchement de ligne" is the only record of this ephemeral installation. Michel Macréau was unable to see her, her body under the sheets having taken on the appearance of a recumbent corpse. Jean-Dominique Jacquemond, May 2023
