[MANUSCRIT].
Coutume De La Prévoté et Vicomté de Paris.
S.l., [early 18th century]. - Manuscript in-folio, 338 x 232. Marbled calf, spine decorated, speckled edges (early 18th century binding).

Beautiful manuscript of the beginning of the XVIIIth century, of more than 850 pages, of the complete text in 16 titles of the custom of Paris.
It is of a perfectly legible writing and without almost any erasure. One distinguishes in fact two styles of writing but undoubtedly of the same hand, one for the text as such and the other for the comments, a little smaller, being on two columns in the text or in the margin. These notes give details on the articles, refer to various legal texts and rulings or to different works.
It is obviously a copy of the custom with part of the comments given by the lawyer at the parliament Barthélémy Auzanet (1591-1673), whose printed version was published in 1708.
Heads and corners restored, hinges cracked, rubbing to corners.
