Miniature cabinet in black lacquered iron and gilded copper with damascene decoration of flowers and birds, Komai, Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) It opens with two small doors on four drawers whose grips are in the shape of chrysanthemum buttons. All the faces and drawers are damascened with gold and silver flowers, red headed cranes, butterflies, vine leaves, temple and pagoda in a landscape.
