SWITZERLAND. Manuscript by Gustave GARNIER, Souvenirs du 12 Août 1861, 1861-1862; one volume in-4 of 163 ff. written on the front only, bound in black chagrin with cold-stamped fillets, with the number F.G. on the upper cover, red edges with semis of golden crosses. Illustrated account of a trip to Switzerland and memorial of the missing wife. Gustave Garnier and his wife left Paris on August 3, 1861; account of the trip: Basel, Zurich, Lake Constance, the castle of Queen Hortense in Arenenberg, Schaffhausen, Olten, Bern, Lake Thun, and Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland, where Fanny Garnier was the victim of an accident during an excursion on August 12, 1861.
