Alexander Alexandrovich MOSSOLOV (1854-1939) Russian general and diplomat. Typescript, My Mission in Romania. The Imperial and Royal Courts of Romania; 177 pages in-4; in French.
Interesting testimony that seems to be unpublished, on Russia and Romania in 1916-1917.
These memoirs of Mossolov, minister plenipotentiary of Russia in Iassy in 1916-1917, seem to be unpublished, at least in French; they have been translated and typed by his daughter Tatiana. They include 18 chapters. Mossolov tells about his mission, the entry of Romania into the war, his relations with the Romanian society, the problem of the Russian Skoptzi (sect practicing castration) refugees in Romania, his interview with Nicolas II just before his abdication, the victory of the Allies and the triumph of Romania... Mossolov ends by evoking his departure in exile and by quoting a very beautiful letter of Queen Marie.
We join 2 L.A.S. of Tatiana Czerkassow, Buenos-Aires 1958, concerning the memoirs of her father.
