Jehan RICTUS (1867-1933). 8 L.A.S, 4 with drawings, Paris 1908-1914, to Frédéric Brou; 1908-1914; 17 pages in-8. Beautiful correspondence illustrated with pen-and-ink drawings. [The sculptor Frédéric Brou (1862-1925) was a friend of Léon Bloy, who had defended his project for the tomb of Villiers de l'Isle-Adam]. August 10, 1908, sent an article from Le Matin, on the deadly fight between two prowlers, "two wolves" which he drew with the caption "The two wolves decided to come to blows, etc. etc. For the Sottisier". March 10, 1911: he would like to sell his "drawings of Rodin (so light) With this viaticum, I could let go of the poems that I was polishing for Comœdia"; drawing (to make Thérèse, Brou's daughter and his goddaughter, laugh) "Cousot in Paris". July 10, 1911. He moved to Rue Camille Tahan and needed plaster and a second-hand mirror. December 21, 1911. He will not be there for Christmas but has met Little Jesus who gave him a book for Therese. September 5, 1912. He is looking for "the notes and photographs on Rosso [the sculptor Medardo Rosso] that I had given you to enlighten Father Bloy"; he needs them for an article for Comœdia; "I swear to you that I will try to make Rodin drink the drop. Yes, he will take something!"; he embraces everyone, even the bird Fifi, whom he draws at the end of the letter facing his profile. September 6, he found everything: "Now we will make the big beard of the Biron Hotel drink a big cup of quack grass". December 20, 1912. He sends a book to Thérèse - with a drawing of the Little Jesus giving her the book "For the little Saint of Tourlaque Street". July 10, 1914. About a letter he wrote to Henri Barbot about his book Paris en feu, "with an enormous desire to laugh (contained)"...
