Marcel PROUST (1871-1922). Original pen-and-ink drawing with autograph caption, Portrait of a Child by J.E. Blanche; ca. 17.5 x 10 cm with a torn edge. For his friend Reynaldo Hahn, Proust drew this pastiche of the painter and worldly portraitist Jacques-Émile Blanche (1861-1942), who also painted a fine portrait of Marcel Proust (Musée d'Orsay): a child in profile, wearing a curious hat.
