The second volume, which constituted the first edition, is perfectly identical to this one. The third volume includes, after the preliminary reflections, the table of lessons from the vowels or simple sounds, to the days of the week, the hours, etc. And the fourth, practices of indeclinables and declinables, conjugables, concordances, etc. Precious description of his method in order to facilitate its use, mainly for the royal children whom the pedagogue had to instruct. The remarkable title-frontispiece, engraved by Jean-Baptiste Guélard, is here on the double page.
A very fine copy in contemporary binding.
Provenance : M. Jacob, Villa Montmorency in Auteuil, with his ex-libris.
