COX (Paul).
Animals.
Seuil. [Paris]. 1997. Printed in Belgium on the presses of the Proost printing house. In-folio (38 x 27,5 cm). (2) blank ff., (30) pp. : stapled, orange soft cardboard covers, title in white at the head of the first one.

Unique French edition of an alphabet book by the artist Paul Cox (born 1959).
In the line of Jean Arp, he realizes, on the very large format of the book, colored abstract forms by letter, constituting a kind of rebus with which the child must identify the animal. Double pages of art and material of the reproduction on a beautiful paper.
Very beautiful work of artist, whose extreme modernity makes it rare nowadays.
Noticed by the Americans, a second edition was published by Chronicle Books, Abstract Alphabet, in 2001, in small format, much less beautiful.
In mint condition.
