Texts by Paul Adam, Jean Aicard, Paul Bourget, Léo Claretie, Joseph Conrad, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, Émile Faguet, Anatole France, Henry James, Jean Jaurès, Rudyard Kipling, Henri Lavedan, Anatole Le Braz, Charles Le Goffic, Jules Lemaître, Pierre Loti, Lovenjoul, Stéphane Mallarmé ("A throw of the dice will never abolish chance"), Paul Margueritte, Victor Margueritte, Jean Moréas, Gaston Mourey, Jean Rameau, J. G. Robertson, Édouard Rod, Francisque Sarcey, Marcel Schwob, Robert Louis Stevenson, André Theuriet, Léon Tolstoï, Adolf Wagner, etc. 34 issues (out of 35 published) in 34 deliveries in 12 volumes in-8 bound. Handwritten notes of Vasseur (6 ff.). Joint : - 1 L.A.S. on the letterhead of the Bibliothèque nationale (December 1967). Beautiful copy of this trilingual review (English, French, German), in which appeared for the first time "Un Coup de Dés jamais n'abolira le Hasard" by Stéphane Mallarmé, 17 years before its publication at the Éditions de La Nouvelle Revue Française. The editorial staff of Cosmopolis presents the publication of this masterpiece as follows: "Wishing to be as eclectic in literature as in politics and to justify itself against the reproach that it has been made of ignoring the new French poetic school, the editorial staff of Cosmopolis offers its readers a previously unpublished poem by Stéphane Mallarmé, the undisputed master of symbolist poetry in France. In this work of an entirely new character, the poet has tried to make music out of words. A kind of general leit-motif which unfolds constitutes the unity of the poem: accessory motives come to group themselves around him. The nature of the characters used and the position of the blanks make up for the musical notes and intervals. This essay may find contradictors: no one will fail to recognize the author's singular effort of art and will not fail to be interested in it."
