Hatin describes this review as follows: "This small sheet, sometimes happy imitation of the Nain jaune, published in almost each of its issues a caricature where the nobles, the priests and the royalist writers appear under the costumes and in the most grotesque attitudes. It liked to place officers in half-salvage, full of honor and loyalty, in front of foolish and cowardly emigrants. But it especially attacked the clergy, and too often mixed a certain mocking verve with a lot of bad taste and bad wit. Seven issues out of fifteen were condemned by the royal court in Paris to be destroyed as seditious.
