The biblical figure of Solomon also appears in several passages of the Koran. The Holy Book of Islam uses to describe him the power and wisdom that characterize him in the Old Testament, and highlights the supernatural relationship he has with the animal world, represented here by a ram and a dromedary and the invisible forces. In addition, he has a great ability to master demons, which are present several times in this work. The subject inspired many artists of the Islamic world and mainly Persian. It is found on the lid of a painted and lacquered wooden goldsmith's box in the British Museum in London (1927,0525.1), which is another example from the Qajar period.
