Chilean senior officer saber. Handle (cracks) with double filigree. Chased and gilded brass mounting. Lion head pommel, guard with a branch openwork of foliage, decorated on the branch with a motif with the large Chilean arms. Curved blade with rounded back, hollow sides, gutters and strong counter-edge at the end, engraved and richly gilded on the heel decorated with trophies of arms. Signed on the heel and on the back WESTER & CO SOLINGEN and marked TAGLIO FERRO. Iron scabbard with two bracelets, trigger guard and suspension ring. With its strap with cord in orange thread trimming, runner and tassel in gold trimming. B.E. End of the 19th century.
