These 78 volumes form the quasi-totality of the second series of the "Mémoires relatifs à l'Histoire de France" published by Claude-Bernard Petitot then by Louis Jean Nicolas Monmerqué. The first series, in 52 volumes, contained the memoirs from the reign of Philippe-Auguste until the beginning of the 17th century. Only volume 21 bis is missing, which includes the beginning of the memoirs of Richelieu. A superb copy in uniform contemporary bindings, very well preserved and very decorative. The first volume is enriched with the " Notice biographique et littéraire sur M. Petitot " by Louis Jean Nicolas Monmerqué, dated 1827. Small worm gallery at the bottom of the spine of volume 6.
