Ceremonial or wedding farmla vest, Tunisia, probably Nabeul, 20th century Sleeveless vest bordered in the front by two rows of tassels, with rich metallic thread trimmings on a purple velvet background drawing vegetal scrolls embellished with leaves and rosettes on the whole, and a large composition of floral bouquet on the back. The shoulders are decorated with crocheted loops of yellow thread embroidered with metallic threads. Colored textile lining with an inside pocket. Shoulder length: 65.5 cm; height: 55 cm; maximum width: 68 cm. Wear, stains on the textile lining. An embroidery decorated with a central star medallion containing a pseudo-tughra, framed by four mandorles and two crescent moons embracing a star, a frieze of pseudo-inscription in Arabic girdling the whole.
