Qur'an leaf on paper, Andalusia, 13th century Pink-colored paper manuscript folio inscribed on both sides with five lines of Maghribi Arabic text in sepia ink, diacritical marks and vocalization in gold and blue ink. Numerous medallions illuminated in gold and polychrome, giving the numbers of verses in the abjad system, marking the separation between verses or marking the sajada prostration for the medallion in the form of a drop. The text is taken from Surah al-Takwir LXXXI, verses 5-14. 33.8 x 25.2 cm Stains, gilding jumps, perforations and tears on one side. "Lot 8" inscribed in pencil at the top right of one side.
