Gold inlaid steel paper-knife, Iran qâjâr, 19th century Paper-knife all in steel inlaid with gold. The blade is flat with a double edge and a rounded end, the handle is continuous with a triangular end. The handle is decorated with predominantly plant motifs and medallions on the blade, the central medallion containing on each side poetic inscriptions about the blade in Persian nasta'liq.
