Suite of four chairs in molded and painted beech, with flat back with a drop in the top, resting on tapered legs with flutes surmounted by rosettes in the squares; 18th century label inscribed in ink: "Six chairs for the bedroom of Mr. C (...) general pao Pascal. H. 91 cm, L. 52 cm RESTORATION TO THE FOOT ENDS Provenance: Most likely delivered for the bedroom of General Pascal Paoli (1725-1807), circa 1787. A similar pair of chairs was delivered by Jean-Baptiste Boulard for the grand salon de Mesdames at the Château de Bellevue in 1784 (Château de Versailles).
