[ROLLET-ANDRIANE (Marayat and Louis-Jacques).
Emmanuelle. - Emmanuelle. L'Anti-vierge.
[Paris: Eric Losfeld, 1959-1960]. - 2 volumes in-8, 200 x 142 and 189 x 140: 308 pp, (2 ff. first blank), printed cover; (4 ff. first two blanks), 356 pp, (2 ff. blanks), printed cover. Paperback, covers filled.

Dutel, 1470 and 1471.

First edition of the first two parts of one of the greatest erotic books of the twentieth century, published clandestinely by Éric Losfeld in 1959 and 1960, without name of author or publisher

.

According to Dutel: "The author of this text is Louis-Jacques Rollet-Andrianne, the husband of Marayat (Emmanuelle) who was a diplomat, member of the French representation at UNESCO, after having been for some time posted in Bangkok" (Dutel, 1470). Others think that the work was written by four hands by both spouses.

The two editions do not have any justification but they would have been printed at 1000 copies on vellum; in spite of this important edition they have become very rare today.

The blank Anti is enriched with an autograph letter signed by Eric Losfeld, on the letterhead of the Librairie Le Terrain Vague, one page in-12, evoking Malcolm de Chazal and André Breton.

Copies very well preserved despite the spine and the edges of the cover of L'Anti-Vierge slightly faded.
