Beige morocco, first cover entirely covered with a mosaic decoration representing a country landscape with three beehives outside of which fly dozens of golden bees, second cover decorated with a shelf on which are placed three flowerpots mosaic of morocco in brown and orange tones, surrounded by gilt bees, spine ribbed, framed in beige morocco, decorated with a double gilt fillet and a gilt bee at each corner, lining and endpapers of tan leather decorated with leaf prints, double guards, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, folder with tan morocco spine, case (René Kieffer) Very beautiful and rare edition printed at only 150 copies on paper with the watermark of the Société des amis du livre moderne. It is illustrated with a frontispiece and sixty-nine compositions by Carlos SCHWABE, including two on the cover and sixty-seven in the text, engraved in colors by the process of Mr. G. Bataille under the artistic direction of Mr. Henri Leitner. Superb copy in mosaic morocco of René Kieffer, being part of the fifteen put in the trade. It is enriched with a decomposition of the colors of one of the illustrations and an ORIGINAL DRAWING SIGNED BY CARLOS SCHWABE, realized in a printed frame and representing a landscape not reproduced in the book. There is at least one other binding like this one on another copy of this work, but in eggplant morocco (see Ader sale 14 April 2022, n° 190). A very well preserved copy .
