Hand mirror in silver plated metal and carved celadon nephrite, China, 19th centuryThe handle is formed by a celadon nephrite fibula carved with two chilong and mounted on a silver plated plate incised with a flower design and flanked by two openwork shou signs. The underside of the fibula is embellished with a button incised with the yin-yang symbol. The back of the mirror is set with a round nephrite plate with carved decoration of a deer and a bat in flight in a landscape of rocks and wutong.
