Henry MILLER (1891-1980). Autograph manuscript, Love and Sex; 10 pages in-4 in black marker; in English (typescript attached).

  Manuscript of a short story.
Miller tells of the meeting and Viennese love affair of a young American woman, Nelly, with a swindler named Albert, an affair cut short because of Albert's pending trial and Nelly's romantic expectations, aware that her lover is only interested in her for sex...
The story was intended for the magazine Stroker, directed by his friend, the painter and poet Irving Stettner, and was published under the definitive title Vienna and Back. In the margin, in an autograph note signed "HM," Miller tells his secretary Sandy that this is an excerpt from Joey that he sent to Stettner's magazine (to which he contributed between 1978 and 1980).
Let's quote the beginning: "She was unquestionably a sexy bitch, one would say. And he, well he, well he was like a guy without a pair of balls. An odd couple, truly. They had met on a trans-continental flight. Both were headed to the same place : Vienna "... And the conclusion : " That evening she took the plane home. She didn't stay a day in New York, but continued on to good ole Shreveport, Louisiana.
