CORTI (José Bookshop).
Surrealist books and publications.
Paris : Librairie José Corti, [ca. 1932]. - In-8 pamphlet, stapled.

"This is not, here, a catalog of the José Corti editions, as one might be tempted to believe, in 1931, they simply did not exist yet. But on the other hand, there is a José Corti bookstore, the main depository of surrealist publications, those of the big publishers like the NRF or those of the more confidential Editions surréalistes. It is a very useful bibliographic instrument, which presents an almost exhaustive panorama of authors and titles in the early 1930s. At that date, the group had already given, before and during its official existence, more than a hundred works" (André Breton website).

The booklet features a composition by Max Ernst on the cover and photographic portraits reproduced on coated paper of Maxime Alexandre, Louis Aragon, André Breton, René Char, René Crevel, Salvador Dali, Paul Éluard, Max Ernst, Benjamin Péret, Tristan Tzara, Pierre Unik and Luis Buñuel.

Copy enriched with a typed leaflet on the letterhead of the José Corti bookstore, giving the list of "the last surrealist publications".

Browned cover.
